🔗 Why I’m skeptical of rewriting JavaScript tools in “faster” languages

I’m inclined to agree. It seems to me that the JavaScript community, or parts of it, is the only programming language community that wants to replace its namesake language so badly that they don’t even stop to think whether it’s a good thing. It was a historic notion that has become a cultural thing. You can’t learn JavaScript without getting exposed to TypeScript at some point, because “serious” programs (or programmers?) can’t possibly be created without it. Soon, you can’t improve your build pipeline without learning Rust.
